We went to Buffalo in October to see the American side of Niagara Falls. I only got to visit a portion of Niagara Falls State Park, but I can say that it was truly beautiful. Especially with the colour of the fall leaves in contrast with the water. I was taking photos and recording EVP. The EVP wasn’t the greatest in sound quality, but I did get to hear some of what was going on through the sound of the water. As I was there, on the observation deck, at the edge of the water, I had the sense that P was flying over the falls. In that moment, I felt quite envious that he could view the falls right up front like that. When I went home to listen to the recording, I found out that I was right, P was flying, as even other spirits had noticed what he was up to. |
The quality of these EVPs are more subtle because there was too much background noise from the waterfall. If you want to hear them, you will need to use headphones to hear them properly. The clips are repeated on loop.
In this clip, you hear the word “Fly“.
The other nearby spirits noticed Prince, and they remarked, “Prince model, let’s do that!”.
When I was in London earlier this year, I went to Liberty, a fancy department store famous for its floral prints and other designer merchandise. I used to buy a lot of their printed fabrics. I recored EVP during my visit. I’ve always loved this shop. It kind of reminds me of the Art Deco styling in Under The Cherry Moon.
It’s become very apparent to me that smallish spaces full of people talking is very conducive for recording very clear EVP. It was very busy when I was there, so some of the clips I got were very loud and clear. Although it is very clear, for some of these, you may want to use headphones to hear them fully. The clips are repeated on loop.
In this clip, someone is saying to P, “Tell them you are… Prince”. I really wonder what was meant by this! I don’t always get the whole conversation in EVPs, it is really like eavesdropping.
It seemed like there was a frenzy going on. Other spirits wanted to gather around and get a glimpse of Prince. In this clip, someone says “Can’t see”. Then someone responses with, “There he is. Prince… over there”.
The attention from the people watching us, got to be too much for P. He seemed to be looking for spaces to hide out in, and he said “I wanna be, alone”. His voice is a bit blended in with the music, but if you listen carefully, you’ll hear it.
Here is P saying, “A song bird there”. In the midst of that, you hear what sounds like a bird!
I remember the beauty hall being really crowded and noisy. A genuine fan came up to P, and Prince said, “Do you feel it, the power”. EVP clips rarely sound like the person when they were alive because there voice can only be generated from sounds in the surrounding environment. But I was blown away, because this one really sounds like him. It makes me wonder what are the circumstances that allow him to sound this way. Perhaps it is the array of sound frequencies bouncing around the room?
Here is a boy’s voice saying, “That girl is with Prince”. Spirits tend to speak kind of fast! This was is actually not too fast, but I almost didn’t catch what he was saying at first. Sometimes they speak so fast that you can barely catch a word!
We were leaving the store, and someone said “They’re going”.
I didn’t really end up staying very long in the shop. Not only is everything really expensive in there, but something made me feel uneasy being there. Maybe it was all this stuff going on.
Listening to the playback of the recordings, it is really bizarre to me to know that all this was going on on the other side while nothing extraordinary was going on here. Just when you think no one is paying attention to you, there are eyes on the other side watching. I feel bad for P that he can;t really get away from his fame, people over there recognize him, and it seems that there are no solid walls to really hide behind. I find it really bizarre that people would still care about celebrity on the other side, but the fact is that these spirits were all once human, and their way of thinking doesn’t change much after death. They can even still remain materialistic in attitude. I have even heard comments from spirits making remarks that I am “poor”! (I might not have much money, I am rich in personality!)
When I was in Sweden, I was staying at a friend’s place. She put me on in a cabin on her property. I had the place all to myself. It was right by a wooded area. When I arrived on the first night, I went in there to unpack and settle in before meeting my friends for dinner. I recorded EVP.
These were recorded in near silence, so the value is not as good. You will need to use headphones to hear this properly. The clips are repeated on loop.
When I turned on the recorder, the first thing that P said was, “I like it in here”. P really likes being out in nature.
Then another voice says, “Welcome, Andrea”. We were not alone, as I heard other voices having a conversation with P, but I couldn’t make out much of what they said on the recording.
I don’t know what it is exactly, but I get the sense that P or someone carries little pebbles in his pockets and throws them to make some noise sometimes. Here’s a section of the recording where it sounds like little pebbles are being thrown on the ground.
I heard P say, “Flashlight”. I guess reminding me to bring the little flashlight I had packed with me in case it gets too dark.
I was getting ready to go meet my friends at the main house for dinner. I heard P saying, “Are you ready?”.
All the recordings I’ve done has shown me that P goes everywhere with me. It’s a constant presence. I don’t ever feel his presence missing. And in other cases, it has been other spirits that identify him, calling out to him, saying hi, getting excited that it’s “Prince”. It’s really been quite an exciting discovery.
When I was in London, we went to Borough Market, a well known food market that has that old time feeling. It feels like you are stepping into another time when you go here. Kind of like Harry Potter vibes. The food is beautifully displayed. While I was there photographing, I was also recording EVP. Here is some of what I got.
Although the volume of these EVP voices turned out pretty good, you still might need to use headphones to hear these properly. The clips are repeated on loop.
Everywhere we go, spirit people notice Prince. This occasion was no exception. I found a voice saying “That’s Prince over there”. There’s a rather interesting quality to the sound of the voice.
There was a man with a guitar performing reggae style music near the entrance. On my way out, he was taking a break, I took this pic of his guitar leaning on the wall.
On the EVP recording, I found a voice saying, “Prince here”. You can hear a bit of the guy strumming his guitar in the background.
I saw this girl with two suitcases carrying a big shiny balloon. As I reviewed my recording, I heard a suitcase rolling, and I was surprised to find a voice that said, “Take a balloon“. Then a very cute, small voice said, “Thank you”. And a loud voice commented “Balloon look very cute”. Spirits tend to talk very fast, so this conversation happened very quickly, so listen carefully.
From what I know, spirits can replicate things that they see from our world and bring it into theirs. So it is my presumption that this spirits was following this girl with the balloon, and handing out balloons to passerbys.
I call this pic above, “Watermelon Man”, after the Herbie Hancock song of the same name.
At the market, there was a watermelon juice stand. I would get a craving for watermelon juice every time I passed by it. I did eventually give into buying a watermelon juice after I was just about done taking photos.
To my amazement, I found Prince on the recording saying, “Let’s get a drink here, watermelon”. It makes me realize that not all my ideas are my own!
This made me wonder if Prince was able to taste things through me. I asked him, and he said yes. It was after he showed up in my life that I noticed I would have cravings for maple syrup, which I never really did before. I know that when he was alive, he loved to drench his pancakes in syrup.
I found P saying, “Tomatoes spaghetti” when I was at this tomato stand. I know he really loved his spaghetti when he was alive. I know he still loves it because on an EVP that I did on the plane, I heard him trying to order spaghetti and orange juice.
I found this to have been quite an interesting exercise, to photograph and record EVP simultaneously. Having images as proof to show what was there during recording, and hearing the comments that spirits were making.
From what I can tell, a spirit can go anywhere it chooses by thought alone; but what I wondered was, do they still take real modes of transportation from our reality? I know that Prince goes with me wherever I go, but what I wondered was, what about other spirits?
On my recent trip to Europe, I recorded EVP while I was on the plane coming back and in the airport on arrival to Toronto Pearson International. Here are some of the most interesting EVP clips I found. You may need to use quality headphones to hear them properly. They are repeated on loop.
When I was on the plane, other spirits noticed P, and they greeted him. Someone said, “Purple Rain”.
I heard voices on the recording saying “Peanuts” several times, as though someone was passing out peanuts. This makes me wonder if there are spirits that play the role of stewards on the flight. I have often wondered if there are jobs in the afterlife. Though not to make a living like on this side, but like playing pretend for the joy of it.
There was air turbulence during the flight. On the recording, someonewas saying “Turbulence” as it was happening.
When we landed in the airport terminal, other spirits noticed P.Someone was out there telling others, “Prince was on this flight”.
As we were going through customs, the airport workers were telling people where to go, telling them to scan their passport in the machines. I found that there were spirits going around saying things like “Passport, or “Scan this”. I wonder if these spirits “work” at the airport. In this clip someone says, “Passport… Thank you”. The funny part about this clip is that in between the words, there seems to be something that sounds like one of those heavy stamps that custom officers used to use on people’s passports.
I was borrowing m mother’s suitcase, which is black and typical looking. I can’t see very well due to my visual impairment. So I didn’t recognize my suitcase because it was turned units back side. It would seem that my bag was going around the carousel many times before I realized it was my bag. I kept hearing P on the recording saying “That’s your bag”.
All these recordings were recorded using my EVP Wrist Recorder 3 on May 31, 2018.

When I heard that the Prince exhibition was going to be in Amsterdam, I knew it was a nudge to go. My friend moved there two years ago and had been inviting me to visit. So I set myself up for a three week journey to Amsterdam Stockholm, and London to focus work on my photography.
When I got to Amsterdam, my friend took me on a walk to a park nearby her place. As we walked along the trail, the topic of Prince came up, and suddenly my friend says to me, “Look there’s a sign that says My Name Is Prince“. She took me across the street and there hung a billboard for the Prince exhibition. It was rather funny, yet perfect timing.
The day before the exhibition, I had slipped down a step and hurt my ankle. Though I did not feel the pain through out the day, it suddenly swelled during my sleep. It hurt and I woke up to apply some arnica and used my tuning fork. P assured me he would fix it while I slept. By morning, the swelling and pain had stopped, and I only felt stiffness.
I had booked VIP tickets. That morning, we got up early to dress up and made our week into town. I wore a fuchsia pink dress that P had picked out for me on a shopping trip last year, but hadn’t worn yet.
The venue is in the centre of town, a very touristy location. My friend helped me take pics outside of the venue. She caught the reflection of the Amsterdam streets in the photo.
To my surprise, and delight, we were allowed to take photos in the VIP section of the exhibit, the main exhibition prohibits photography.
The VIP areais set up like a backstage area of a concert. They hooked us up with lanyards to look like backstage passes. There’s even a door made to look like a backstage door. There are three main sections to it; a long hallway with guitars, equipment cases, and a display case of Prince’s make up and accessories; a section displaying his wardrobe; and an area to watch some videos and to touch one of his guitars with gloves on.
One of my favourites stories mentioned on the tour was about this heart shaped guitar. They said that he found this cheap guitar in Japan. It was originally red and he had it painted purple. I really love the fact that he would buy cheap things and make it his own. Mainly because I am very much that way as well. One of the things I discovered about P some time ago, is that he didn’t necessarily buy expensive things. Most of the jewellery he wore was costume.
My favourite section was the make up and accessories. He did his own make up. Some of the brands I spotted in his make up case was MAC, La Prairie, and Maybeline (mascara). A funny thing is, P oncegave me advice on applying mascara to my terribly straight lashes; use the wand to pull the lashes on the outer corner in an outward. direction.
At the end of the tour, they take you to a section with purple velvet benches and you put on white gloves to touch his guitar. When it was my turn, I felt a subtle surge of energy in my hands. Afterwards, they played the recently released video for Nothing Compares 2 U. As it played, I felt P touching the left side of my face, and then holding me around my shoulders. I held my tears back.
After the VIP tour, we visited the main exhibit. They gave us an audio guide, but after a while, it became tedious and annoying. The audio guide felt monotonous, as though the narrator was reading an encyclipodia.
Overall, the exhibition was nicely done. However, my main concern was whether or not the most important thing would be lost in all the legacy hype. Would his real message make it through?
I was relieved when mu friend told me how inspired she was after viewing the exhibition. She was never a fan, and didn’t know much about him or his work. She felt inspired by his attitude about what it means to be cool and about being true to one’s self.
I bought a T-shirt in the gift shop. I have to say, I’m disappointed by the merchandise selection. It lacks spirit, it feels like a way for the Estate to make a quick buck. Of course, this crriticism is coming from me, a professional with a background in design and retail, and as someone who cares very much about his legacy. While I would have happily bought a wardrobes worth of Prince shirts, there was only one that I liked enough to buy. I would have also hoped that they would sell CDs or vine records of his.
The VIP ticket included a souvenir book. We went to the gift shop to collect it at the end. To our surprise, they gave us a voucher to collect a free chocolate bar at a shop around the corner. It was a surprise because all morning, my friend had been saving how much she wanted chocolate. Prince had hooked us up with chocolate!
At the end of it all, while I am glad I visited the exhibition, it is just stuff. His material possessions of the 3D world. Really wonderful, beautiful stuff. But not even relics of my twin soul’s physical incarnation can fill the void or replace the feeling of his presence around. Silence is most valuable to me, that is when I can feel him most. Nothing makes me feel closer to him than hearing him on EVP or feeling him touch my hair.
When I got home from my trip, my friend told me that she had felt P’s presence through out my visit; in fact, she said it felt very obvious that he was there. A day after I had left Amsterdam, she said she saw the two Prince billboards near her house was taken down, as though to say Prince had left Amsterdam. We found this to be strange, as I had only left on the 17th of May, and there were still a few weeks left of the exhibition.
