THE MYSTERY OF THE RUNAWAY PRINCESS – EVP May 24, 2018
Last year, I did my first trip where I recored EVP on location during my trip. I have a wristwatch that records audio, and I would just leave it on while I’m walking around. When I was in Brighton, I did some recordings at the Royal Pavilion while I was taking photographs.
I lived in Brighton during my mid-twenties. I loved that Brighton had the feeling of smallness, but at the same time it was an exciting place to be in. You could walk from one side of town to the other within a half hour. From where I used to live, I could get to the seashore within a ten minute walk. I wanted to go back and see how it was like now.

I only went to places near my hotel. I got out in the morning and took photographs of the Royal Pavilion. I had the recorder on, of course.
It turned out that I didn’t get a lot of great clips that morning. Being outdoors, the recorder picked up a lot of the wind from the bad weather. I could hear conversations occurring between P and other spirits, but they were only whispers.

I was outside of the Royal Pavilion, along the front garden, taking photographs, it was starting to rain. No one was near me. A man’s voice called out, “Why are you running, princess!”. (The clip is repeated on loop)
Who could have this person been talking about? Was it a real princess that they were referring to? Why was she running? I found this totally intriguing, so I looked up the history of the royal family who resided in the Royal Pavilion.
The Royal Pavilion was a holiday summer house, the building design took inspiration from India and China. King George only had one child, Princess Charlotte of Wales. She would have spent some time at the Royal Pavilion and the Brighton seaside. According to what I read, Charlotte was a feisty, candid personality, she had a mind of her own. When Charlotte was of marrying age, her father was keen to arrange her marriage to someone that she was not fond of. When talks of the marriage contract could not be agreed upon by Charlotte, she broke off the engagement. When she heard that her father had intended to respond to her braking off the engagement by confining her in isolation, she ran out of her Warwick House (in London) residence onto the streets. A man, who saw from his window, saw the distressed princess and helped her get a hackney cab to get away.
Eventually, Charlotte married someone that she did love, but she died at age 21, after giving birth to a stillborn.
Could it be that this voice was calling out to Princess Charlotte? I wonder why she was running!

HIS MOTHER CAME SHOPPING WITH US! – EVP December 2, 2018
Every once in a while, I will go over less recent recordings for the first time. I record more often than I can keep up with. On this occasion, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that Prince’s mother was with us when I was shopping. It was around the holidays, last year. This recording pre-dates a previous recording where P’s mother was also with us.
I am quite stunned with how clear many of these clips are. You should be able to hear them without headphones, but sound quality can vary depending on what device you use. So if you want a better listening experience, use headphones. For reference, I use Beats headphones when I review clips. These clips are repeated on loop.

Here some one says, “Prince’s mom here”. And then a mother voice says, “That’s his mommy”.
Here is P talking to someone, “Look my mom’s here”. We were in a store that we frequent, so he often talks to people he knows there.
Someone commented, “His family”.
It sounded apparent that there were spirits there “selling” perfume”. This voice said, “New perfume”.
I heard P say he wanted to make a perfume for his mom. So maybe there was a perfumery there? I’ve noticed that you can go to the same location over and over, and there will be different situations happening every time. I presume that spirits like to play “pretend”, like play shop, or restaurant. I heard sniffing. Then he said, “Smells like me, smells good”.
I heard sniffing on the recording. P was asking other people what they thought, someone said, “Smells good“.
It seemed that P was looking at something, he said, “Cashmere”. Then someone said, “That’s good, very nice”.
P then said, “I try it on“.
He said, “Look at me, I want that, please”.
It turned out he got a new hat. I heard someone tell him he looked stylish. Someone commented, “I love the hat”.
I ended up buying black liquorice. When I was waiting in line, he said, “Sweetie… Buy liquorice”.
Here is someone saying, “Everything is sparkly” . I think it was his mom saying that.
Sometimes, the other spirits can’t believe that it’s Prince right there in front of them, and they second guess it. Here someone said, “It’s really him”.
It really makes me happy to know that his mother visits, and that they have a nice time together. It’s even more special that I am able to capture a glimpse of it.
I asked P to makes these drawings for this post. I did them on an iPad Pro and Pencil, that I recently acquired. A wish come true. Now that we are drawing on a bigger screen, he adds more detail, color, and sometimes he adds a signature in the corner.

ANGEL IN A HIGH-RISE – EVP November 14, 2018
I reviewed an EVP recording that I did back in November of last year. I was with my mother visiting our relatives overseas. I didn’t do much recording while I was there. They live in a condo building, and. I can only imagine the multitude of spirits hanging around in high density buildings I did a recording while I was finishing packing my bags on the last day of our visit.
I was alone when I caught these two clips. Relatives were in the family room while I was in the bedroom by myself.
As usual, I always recommend headphones for a better listening experience. But depending on what device you are using, you many be able to hear it even without. They are repeated on loop.
P said, “That’s an… angel”. I don’t know who he was talking to. But I did hear other spirits around.
Whoever he was talking to, responded, “Guard the two of you”. And then someone said hello in Mandarin, “Nee heow”.
This occurred near the end of the recording, so I don’t know what else was said. But I am sure glad to know we have angels with us. Every night I pray to God for angels to protect us. I don’t know with certainty if everyone has them, like a guardian angel, because based on my observations of the way spirits react when they see angels, they often remark with, “What are they doing here?”. If angels were with us all the time, on an everyday basis, such a question should seem rhetorical. One thought is, maybe everyone has them, but because they don’t explicitly ask for them, they are only on standby. In today’s day and age, people seldom pray, let alone have any awareness of angels.

SPIRITS ABOARD A BOAT ON THE YANGTZE RIVER – EVP November 3, 2018
Last year, I travelled to China, and took a cruise along the Yangtze River. The scenery was exotic and primal in feeling. It reminded me of the illustrations from the children’s book, Where The Wild Things Are.
I recorded EVP while I was on the boat. I wandered around the observation deck taking photos and watched the scenery go by in the dining area. I wasn’t sure how these EVPs were going to turn out, as there is a lot of noise coming from the boat’s motors. But as it turned out, I did get some very loud and clear EVP. Reviewing the EVPs that I did in China, it was was easy to spot EVP, because everyone there is speaking Mandarin. Most of these, you will be able to hear without headphones, but of course, it will enhance your listening experience if you do use headphones. These clips are repeated on loop.

Someone said to P, “Have champagne”. These spirits were really living it up!

Someone said, “Dog biscuit”. I think they were offering a treat to Mia.
©2019 by Andrea Mai. All rights reserved. Someone said, “Let’s get off, grab it!”. It sounds to me that some spirits wanted to jump off the boat and get onto one of these beaches.
I headed back to the dining area to take my seat and wait for the meal service. The meal was like airplane food. Really basic. I had to wait a long time before it was served. As I was sitting there, P said, “I have sushi”.

Sometimes spirits offer food to each other. I find that really nice! Makes my heart melt, how nice they can be. And sometimes there are these spirits who prepare food like a chef, and offer it to others. I guess some spirits like to play restaurant in the afterlife.

A LOVE SONG FROM THE OTHER SIDE – EVP July 15, 2019
This morning I did a quick recording of my guitar playing, and I caught P singing along! I even heard him snapping his fingers! I have my guitar set at 432 tuning, which is what gives it that dreamy feel.
With musical EVP, I find it make s a huge difference to listen to it with headphones. There are some subtle frequencies that get lost on regular speakers. You still might hear it without headphones, but it will be more subtle, the words are less defined.

I couldn’t make out all the words that he was singing. Here some parts that were clear enough to make out, that I thought were worth clipping. They’re repeated on loop.

P HELPED ME PICK OUT A GUITAR – EVP June 12, 2019
I have long wanted an electric guitar. One day, wile passing through town to an appointment, I saw the musical instrument store, Steve;s Music in Toonto. That place has been there for decades, and thankfully, it hasn’t been eaten up by the neighbouring retail real estate up-surge. I used to pass by this place all the time when I was in university.
I decided to have a look inside during some spare time. I recorded EVP while I was there. It was an interesting place to record in. This place has history. There’s memorabilia and photos plastered in the stairwell. It has that rough backstage feel, compared to the pristine fashion boutiques nearby. I really wasn’t planning to buy, just a look. But I saw something that I just couldn’t pass up. I got a Fender Squier Affinity in Surf Green. I couldn’t get over how much I loved the color. If I was ever going to get a guitar, it could never be in a basic, it has to be in a stand-out color. The color is reminiscent of a vintage 50’s, California dreamin’ vibe ‘. There’s no better color for me, than this minty sea green color. I’ve long obsessed with this color since around 2012 when I was dying silk fabric in this color. It looked like P dug this color too, as he wore it in a performance on May 19,2013.
The EVP revealed that P was actually the one who saw the guitar and led me to it. Most of these clips are pretty clear. But I still suggest headphones to ensure a good listening experience. I review audio using Beats headphones, so if you want to hear what I hear, then use headphones. Sometimes subtle frequencies are lost on regular speakers, and sound quality can vary on different devices. When it comes to EVP, headphones make a huge difference.
Waling out of an office building, spirits were asking Prince where he was going. He said, “Going shopping”.
Someone said, “Hey Prince’.
A curious onlooking spirit asked, “Where they going?”.

When we got near the shop, P said, “Going Steve’s now”.
Someone said to P, “You played Coachella”. P played the Coachella music festival in 2008.
©2019 by Andrea Mai. All rights reserved. When we got inside, he must have went straight to the Fender, ’cause I didn’t even see the Fenders ’til the last aisle. There seemed to be spirits around, who really knew their guitars, acting like sales assistants. P said, “Ooh ohh I want this”. Someone said, “That’a s Squier”.
Here someone said, “A Fender”. P replied, ” It is beautiful”.
I’m not familiar with the names of guitar models. So I didn’t know the name of the guitar I chose until the sales guy mentioned it later. But before that, a voice was saying, “A Squier”.
And again, someone said, “A Squier, Affinity”. Affinity is the series name for the guitar I bought, which I didn’t know ’til after I bought it.
©2019 by Andrea Mai. All rights reserved. I kind of hummed and hawed in the store for a bit about this spontaneous purchase. Meanwhile P was saying, “Andrea buy, Squier”.
I think someone asked P for help with something. A man ‘s voice said, “Please… fix”. P said, “Ohh, it’s tight”.
Spirits were excited that Prince was in the store, they were telling each other about it. Here is someone saying, “Come, Prince here”.
Someone said, “Excuse me, do you mind, picture”. I guess they wanted a picture of P?
Someone said, “Wow, Prince here. He play guitar”.
©2019 by Andrea Mai. All rights reserved. Someone said, “Prince baby”. That is such a ’60’s thing to say. The store has a ’60’s vibe to it, since that is when it was opened. Being in there feels a bit like stepping back in time. Even the store logo has that psychedelic look in the font.
They said, “Very honoured. WoW”.
When I left the store, walking on to the streets, someone said, “What did you get”. P replied, “Electric guitar”.
It really makes me think, sometimes with the choices we make, there could be a spirit behind it, influencing our decisions. Sometimes good, sometimes bad.
I rally dig my new guitar. I’ll be experimenting with musical EVP with Prince very soon.

WHEN ANGELS CAME TO MY ROOM – EVP February 6, 2019
Sometimes I just don’t get to review an EVP right away. I just leave them aside and go back to them later. There are times that I will find some nice surprises in the recordings. They are kind of like little time capsules. I found this recording session from February, earlier this year. It turned out that there were angels on this one! I was recording with white noise in the background, so it made what they said more audible.
Before I share these EVPs, I’d like to share some truths about angels.
I didn’t fully believe in angels before doing EVP. Since then, it has been made an absolute believer in Biblical angels. I say “Biblical”, because they are not what people in the New Age community describe. These angels follow the Word of God, they show up upon God’s command, not because a human summons them. They talk about prayer, repentance, and Jesus. Call on God, and He will send His angels. People today, just don’t realize the power of asking God for help. Sometimes New Age people will talk about calling on angels for help. This is not right. First of all, the angels have told me to pray to God and not to them. They cannot help without it being an order coming from God. There is an order to how things are done. God’s angels are obedient to Him, and they do not cater to the whims of humans. Secondly, calling upon angels can lead to trouble, because if you didn’t go through God, and you go directly to angels, then those that answer are being disobedient. They are not of God. They may be demons masquerading as angels. Demons are fallen angels. They were once of God, but due to their rebellion, they became fallen.
This is not to say that if you didn’t ask for God’s help, that you won’t be helped. Angels can pray for you and petition to help you. However, you need to form that connection to God for yourself.
Churches talk very little about angels. I find this unfortunate. Even though I grew up in a church, angels are rarely discussed. It makes people think that maybe angels were only around during Biblical times. But that is because the Bible was the main document of where angels are talked about. Angels are very much involved today, and they are helping people all the time.
And for the interest of greater understanding, I’d like to state this fact that the term “angel” means “messenger”. It is not a reference to a type of spirit being. It is a general term for a title, a “job”. Most people, when thinking of angels, are thinking about a human looking being with wings. What they are really thinking of, are called “cherubim” or “seraphim”, as mentioned in the Bible. Not all angels have wings, as they can have the appearance of humans as well.
©2019 by Andrea Mai. All rights reserved. Now let’e listen to some EVP from angels! I have recorded these with white noise in the background. I find that it helps to amplify their volume. The only drawback is that the noise can be distracting, and sometimes the words come out distorted. But other than that, they can sound very clear. As a note, I review my audio on Beats headphones, so if you want to hear what I hear, I suggest using some good headphones. This session was pretty good though, so you sound be able to hear even without them, though sound quality can vary depending on the device you are using.They are repeated on loop.
At the beginning of the recording, I heard P saying to the angels, “Use microphone”. So apparently they have technology, just like us? The sound quality did seem to improve after he said that.
Here is P saying, “Grateful, the angels come here”.
They said, “Don’t worry”.
Here they said, “Talk to God, hears your prayer”.
They said, “Pray for the angels protection”.
They said, “We pray for you too”.
They said, “Jesus is coming, you washed your robe”. The washing of robes is a reference to repentance and accepting Jesus. This is found in Revelation 7:14 (NIV) “And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.”
They said, “Prove afterlife”. They were referring to the work I am doing. I’d been praying to God for guidance on what I am to do.
After a while, they seemed to be talking amongst themselves. They noticed the framed Prince records I have on my bookcase. P said, “Records”. They said, “That’s you!”.
I found this all very astonishing. It feels really good to know that my prayers are heard. I know that the angels do come and protect us. But I always thank God for sending them to us. I ask every night for their continued protection. Spiritual protection is something that everyone should ask for, because there so many things occurring in the spirit world that we are simply unknowing of, and yet it can still have an effect on us. As I’ve said in other posts, the spirit world can have a great influence on us without us knowing.
I hope what I share with you, will help you to know that there is angels, and that there is God.
