The Baby Boomers\u2014the generation that has dominated Western culture for half a century\u2014are acting increasingly erratic, narcissistic, and detached from reality. Elderly leaders throw tantrums on social media. Corporate titans refuse to retire. Politicians in their seventies and eighties cling to power like it is oxygen. And the rest of us are left wondering what the hell is happening to them. The answer might be written in the stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To understand why Boomers are acting out, we have to go back to their birth chart. The Baby Boomer generation, roughly 1946 to 1964<\/strong>, was born under Pluto in Leo<\/strong>. Pluto represents power, transformation, and raw instinct. Leo represents ego, sovereignty, and the spotlight. When Pluto moves through Leo, it creates a generation that believes they are destined for greatness, entitled to center stage, and uniquely qualified to lead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n This is the “Me Generation.” They grew up in post-WWII prosperity, rebelled against their parents in the 1960s, and spent the next fifty years accumulating wealth, power, and cultural dominance. They have never had to truly share power or step aside. They have been the demographic engine driving Western culture for their entire adult lives. They were born to be in charge, and they are not ready to let go.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Now, fast forward to 2025 through 2033<\/strong>. We are in the middle of a Uranus in Gemini<\/strong> transit. Uranus is the planet of disruption, rebellion, and shocking change. Gemini rules communication, information, and ideas. When Uranus moves through Gemini, it upends old information systems, fragments the media landscape, and forces a radical shift in how people think and communicate. But here is the kicker. Uranus takes approximately eighty-four years to orbit the Sun. That means that for the oldest Boomers, born 1946 to 1949<\/strong>, this transit is their Uranus Return<\/strong>\u2014the moment when the planet of disruption comes back to exactly where it was when they were born. <\/p>\n\n\n\n What happens when a generation that was born under the sign of radical rebellion experiences its Uranus Return in old age? They double down. Instead of going gently into retirement, they become more erratic, more impulsive, and more convinced that they are the only ones who can save the world. They cling to power because the Uranus Return is about breaking free from constraints, and for aging Boomers in leadership, this means refusing to retire, refusing to relinquish control, and refusing to accept that their time is passing. They also revert to adolescent behavior. Uranus in Gemini is chaotic, attention-seeking, and prone to dramatic, unfiltered outbursts. This is why you see elderly leaders throwing public tantrums, making bizarre statements, and acting with a complete lack of self-awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As if that were not enough, we are also in the early stages of a Neptune in Aries<\/strong> transit, which runs from 2025 to 2039<\/strong>. Neptune clouds judgment, distorts reality, and creates delusions of grandeur. Aries is the sign of the ego, the self, and impulsive action. When you combine Neptune in Aries with the Boomer Uranus Return, you get a generation that is increasingly delusional about their own importance. They become convinced they are fighting a cosmic battle between good and evil, with themselves as the hero. <\/p>\n\n\n\n They are unable to see their own decline because Neptune is literally fogging their perception of reality. They become prone to extreme narcissism because Neptune in Aries makes them feel like they are the center of the universe. This is why Boomer leaders in politics, media, and business are acting with a level of narcissism that seems worse than before. It is not just that they are old. The astrological weather is amplifying their worst traits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Historians have long observed an eighty-year cycle of generational upheaval\u2014a period when old orders collapse and new ones are born. This cycle aligns almost perfectly with the Uranus orbit. In 1776<\/strong>, during a Uranus in Gemini<\/strong> transit, the American Revolution overthrew monarchy and birthed democracy. In 1861 through 1865<\/strong>, another Uranus in Gemini<\/strong> transit saw the American Civil War shatter the old agrarian order, abolish slavery, and launch the industrial age. Now, they are living through its return, and they are fighting to stay relevant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Here is where the generational conflict becomes personal for the rest of us. Pluto in Aquarius<\/strong>, the transit we are all living through from 2023 to 2044<\/strong>, is about collective power, decentralization, and dismantling old hierarchies. The Boomers, with their Pluto in Leo and Uranus in Gemini Return, are the embodiment of the old hierarchy. They are the ones clinging to power, refusing to step aside, and insisting that their way is the only way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The younger generations, Millennials and Gen Z, are being activated by Pluto in Aquarius to demand change. They are using decentralized, collective power\u2014social media, grassroots movements, alternative systems\u2014to push back against the Boomer establishment. The crazy behavior we are seeing from Boomer leaders is a death rattle. It is a generation that has dominated the culture for fifty years realizing, deep down, that their time is over, but refusing to accept it. And because the astrological transits are making them delusional and erratic, they are lashing out in increasingly desperate ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Uranus Return will not last forever. By the mid-2030s, the astrological weather will shift. But right now, we are in the thick of it. The question is not if the old order will collapse, but how. Will the Boomers fight to the bitter end, dragging the rest of us into chaos? Or will they finally step aside and let the next generation rebuild? <\/p>\n\n\n\n History suggests that generational upheavals are rarely peaceful, but they are always transformative. The Boomers were born to be the center of the universe. Now, the universe is telling them it is time to move on. Whether they leave gracefully or kicking and screaming is up to them.
